Police intervention in Les Cayes led to the death of a robber and the seizure of a firearm
This Wednesday, October 23, 2024, during an exchange of fire with agents of the Les Cayes Intervention Brigade, a robber was shot dead. Known as Patrico Lexis, accompanied by his accomplice, he was ransoming a citizen in the area of “Demapou”on board a motorcycle, when they were surprised by law enforcement officers, according to a PNH note.
“These individuals opened fire on the police patrol, who responded immediately. During the exchange of fire, one of them was killed while the other managed to escape despite his gunshot wounds”specifies the note from the National Police.
Weapons and equipment confiscated by the Saint-Marc Police
The Haitian National Police informs that, as part of an intervention carried out on Tuesday October 22, 2024 in “No Horses”a locality in Saint-Marc, weapons and various materials in the possession of criminals were seized.
According to a press release from the PNHthe items seized include: a MOSBERG brand 12 GA rifle, serial number 39425R; a fake weapon; four phones, two of which are Android; three televisions; three OMTEC & KGPX speakers; a screen; two propane gas bottles of 3 and 5 liters respectively; an STVG radio; two PNH bulletproof vests; a stretcher; a hacksaw; a stethoscope and 51 DVDs.
It is specified that the intervention took place in Carrefour-Peigne, in a building used by gang members to commit criminal acts, including extortion of citizens.
