The Iraqi Football Association announced today, Tuesday, the nomination of a Saudi refereeing team to lead the match between our national team and its Jordanian counterpart in the fifth round of the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
The Federation said in a statement received by the (INA): “The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has named the arbitration teams for the matches of the fifth round of the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.”
He added, “The confrontation between our national team and Jordan in Basra on (11/14) at 7:15 p.m. (19:15) will be led by a Saudi refereeing team led by international Mohammed Al-Huwaish, assisted by Khalaf Al-Shammari, Yasser Al-Sultan, and Faisal Al-Balawi as fourth referee.”
He continued, “The two Saudis, Khaled Al-Taris, will also be the VAR referee, assisted by Sultan Al-Harbi, while the Uzbekistan Vladislav Tsetilin will be the referee’s observer, the Bahraini Nasser Al-Abri will be the supervisor of the match, and the security and safety official from Kyrgyzstan will be Abaz Torez, while the Iraqi Ali Karim will be the VAR observer.”
