A serious violence incident in the Wolfson Hospital emergency room occurred tonight, which adds to violent incidents in many hospitals during the week.
A patient hit a doctor in the emergency room at Wolfson in the face and broke his glasses. A complaint was filed with the police.
At Wolfson Hospital they have strongly condemned criminal violence against the treating staff and stressed that cases of violence will be dealt with very severely before the law enforcement authorities.
Dr. Anat Engel, Director General of Wolfson Medical Center; “We use all the tools at our disposal so that the staff who work day and night with dedication and professionalism for the patients feel protected at work. However, it is clear that the issue of violence needs to be addressed at a national level and enforcement and punishment against all those who use violence must be exhausted.”
