Luxury gadget maker Caviar has unveiled an exclusive edition of the Huawei Mate XT, entirely plated in 18k pure gold. This smartphone weighs almost 1 kg (2.2 lbs) and is priced at $100,000.
As Day.Az reports, ixbt.com writes about this.
Unlike the previously released 24-karat gold-plated version of the Caviar “Golden Dragon”, this limited edition is real solid gold, highlighting its individual character. The design features a pill-shaped cutout for the front camera and a large circular camera module on the back.
The company clarified that this model is made to order and is not available for purchase on their website. However, they also offer a 24-karat gold-plated option for those looking for a more affordable luxury. This version has a unique texture inspired by ancient Chinese art, specifically the multi-layer forging technique of Longquan steel, which dates back to the 12th century BC.
Caviar has no plans to replicate this particular Mate XT in 18k gold. However, the company said that other 18-karat gold models based on different smartphones may be in the works.
