A unique copy of Tintin in America from 1932, signed by its author Hergé, is estimated at 200,000 euros.

On Wednesday 23 October the Tajan house organized an auction. A collection of Hergé’s original albums was offered for purchase. Before the start of this sale, the albums were exhibited in rue des Mathurins, Paris. They are very well preserved, although some date back to the 1930s. They all come from the collection of Felipe Ortiz-Patino, a Swiss man who is part of a large family of art collectors.

The record estimate is therefore 200,000 euros. This is an album Tintin in America of 1932 dedicated by Hergé. It is a message to the attention of his mentor, Father Helsen, which increases the value of the album. This is the only time Hergé acknowledges some sort of identification with the character of Tintin.
