As a player, Alessandro Nesta was one of the world’s best, but as a coach things aren’t going quite so well. He lost his job in Serie A as a former central defender.
One day before Christmas Eve, AC Monza took action. The Italian first division team has parted ways with coach Alessandro Nesta. The 48-year-old took over at Monza in the summer, but after 17 games and a haul of 10 points, the club from northern Italy is bottom of the table.
Monza was only able to win one league game this season. However, two months have passed since this threesome. That was too much for the club bosses, which is why the 2006 soccer world champion had to leave.
His successor will be Salvatore Bochetti, who was previously assistant coach at Hellas Verona and, apart from a few games as an interim solution, has no experience as a head coach.
