jpnn.comJAKARTA-The attorney of the pair of candidates for Governor and Deputy Governor of Papua Number 1 Benhur Tomi Mano-Yermias Bisai (BTM-YB), Ronny Talapessy assessed the accusation of candidate pair number 2 as an applicant in the dispute of the election results in the Constitutional Court (MK) as an effort thwart the results of valid elections.
Moreover, the accusation of candidate pair number 2 Mathius Derek Fakhiri-Aryoko Rumaropen (Mari-Yo) is judged without a strong legal basis.
“This accusation is baseless and only creates opinions without evidence. The nomination process has been running according to applicable procedures,” Ronny Talapessy said at the trial at the Constitutional Court, Thursday (1/30).
In the dispute session of the results of the election of the Governor and Deputy Governor of Papua at the Constitutional Court today, Paslon number 2 accused Yermias Bisai Cawagub of using an invalid document that was allegedly belonging to another person, namely a certificate of not being revoked his voting rights and a certificate of never being convicted.
This accusation was denied by Ronny Talapessy as legal counsel number 1 Benhur Tomi Mano-Yermias Bisai.
“We believe that each of these problems must be resolved based on facts and legal rules, not just an unfounded accusation,” said Ronny.
He reminded democracy must be carried out with integrity and transparency.
“It is not a tool to attack political opponents with unproven accusations,” added Ronny.
