Home Affairs Advisor Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said that action will be taken only if there is an attempt to breach the security.
The Home Affairs Adviser said this at a press briefing after discussing their second biggest program with leaders of the Buddhist Federation at the Ministry of Home Affairs on Wednesday (October 9).
He said, I have assured them that you can perform your program in a very happy atmosphere. We will do whatever kind of support you want.
Regarding the event of Buddhists in the hilly areas, the Home Affairs Adviser said that the matter of hilly districts was not discussed. I still don’t know what is inside them. There is no safety concern in the mountains. There is good security. Action will be taken against anyone who tries to breach the security.
He said, you have seen who tries to breach security. You make it well. We tried to tackle that. There are some people who always try to make things worse.
Regarding Durga Puja, the Home Affairs Adviser said, I went to Gazipur yesterday to see the Puja. I saw a beautiful environment there. Everyone hopes that this puja will go well. Today I will go to inaugurate a Durga Puja ceremony. If you go there, you will see, it will be good. If there is a bad environment somewhere, we will know about it through you. No untoward situation has been reported so far. If any mishap occurs anywhere, we will take action to remedy it.
Buddhist Federation advisor Sukumar Barua said, there is always fear surrounding the event, there is also a matter of security. This time is not out of the question. We have sought the assistance of the Home Affairs Adviser so that we can conduct our event peacefully and gracefully.
