Six actors are being sought for a staged reading of a new play, MADAMADAM, with rehearsals and the performance taking place in Saratoga, California. The production seeks local talent available for rehearsals throughout March and April.
The staged reading will be held at Montalvo Arts Center in Saratoga, CA 95070 on Tuesday, April 28 – Evening, time tbd.
Applicants must be available for one to two Zoom rehearsals in March, and three to four in-person rehearsals in Saratoga prior to the performance. A small stipend of $200 per show will be provided.
About the project: MADAMADAM is a full-length play that delves into the complexities of a queer man’s return to his deadhome—a place he no longer identifies with—in pursuit of resolution. After years of estrangement from his mother, Garrett makes a surprise Thanksgiving visit, armed with a newfound self-awareness that disrupts the holiday and sets off a chain of unforeseen events.

An altruistic, free-spirited woman from Santa Cruz.
CHAZ (Bethy’s husband)
30-40’s he/him, any race
Smug and devoted to yoga.
Interested actors should submit a resume and either a comedic or dramatic monologue.
