Thiruvananthapuram ADGP Mr. Ajith Kumar. Surveillance and security have been tightened in the state. A list of anti-social and drug traffickers has been prepared. The ADGP said that if they reach the celebration centers, they will be detained. The police will collect the information of those attending the DJ party. A case will be filed against the hotel owner in case of violation.
Strict surveillance has been put in place for all New Year celebrations held in open places including Kovalam and Fort Kochi. Many policemen in mufti and uniform have been deployed in the areas. The police have also issued notices to the hotels where the celebrations are taking place. If it is noticed that intoxicants are being used, the hotel owner will face legal action along with the user. Celebrations are needed. But don’t overdo it.’- ADGP said.
