According to a foreign news agency, 27-year-old Nasir Ahmed Tawhidi from Afghanistan was arrested in the state of Oklahoma on charges of planning terrorist attacks. The suspect came to the United States on a special immigrant visa in 2021 and resided in Oklahoma.
Nasir Ahmed Tawhidi is accused of accessing the cameras of the capital Washington, DC and seeking information about states that do not require a license to carry a firearm. Also checked online.
His younger brother-in-law is also involved in this conspiracy with Nasir Toheidi, who was arrested on the pretext of buying two rifles from an undercover agent of the American investigative agency FBI.
After his arrest, Nasir Touhidi told authorities that he had been planning an attack during a large gathering of people and that he and his accomplices wanted martyrdom during that time.
The U.S. Special Immigrant Visa Program allows up to 50 people a year who have served as translators for U.S. forces or chiefs of mission in Afghanistan or Iraq. Tawhidi was working as a translator in Afghanistan.
