46 people were killed as a result of Pakistani air strikes targeting the east of the country, according to a Taliban spokesman in Afghanistan. Zabihullah Mujahid.
He said: “Last night, Pakistan bombed four points in the Barmal area of Paktita province. The total number of deaths reached 46 people, the majority of whom were children and women.”
In a statement, the Ministry of Defense condemned the air strikes, describing them as “barbarism and clear aggression.”
The statement said: “The Islamic Emirate will not leave this cowardly act unanswered, but rather considers defending its lands and sovereignty a right that cannot be waived.”
“The clashes on the border came after the deadly air strikes launched by the Pakistani army in March in the border areas with Afghanistan, which the Taliban authorities said resulted in the killing of eight civilians. These strikes are the latest escalation in hostilities on the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan, where Border tensions between the two countries have escalated since the Taliban government seized power in 2021.
