After 16 months in prison: The leader of the northern faction of the Islamic Movement, Sheikh Raed Salah, was released this morning (Monday) from prison.
In August 2017, Salah was arrested on suspicion of inciting terrorism. In July 2018, after 11 months in detention, he was released under house arrest. In November 2019, Salah was convicted of incitement and expressing support for terrorism, and in February 2020, he was sentenced to 28 months in prison. In August 2020 he began serving the sentence.

Already a week ago, Umm al-Fahm began making posters with Salah pictures hung at the entrances to the city, in addition to unprecedented preparations for the reception at his home.

As you may recall, the Islamic Movement was outlawed nearly 7 years ago and declared an illegal association. Saleh has been arrested many times for offenses of incitement in front of an audience and supporting an outlawed organization, after delivering a sermon in which he called for going to war on al-Aqsa.
Among the hundreds of people who came to express support for the instigator and supporter of terrorism about a year and a half ago with the sentence, there was also MK Hiba Yazbek from the joint list.
