On Easter weekend 2021, this news went around the world: Due to a data leak on Facebook, personal data of more than 530 million users was published on the Internet. This is said to have included data from around six million people in Germany – a clear violation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)!

Since then, several German law firms have been advertising that they will seek “compensation of up to 5,000 euros from Facebook”. Now there are the first German judgments.
