American singer and guitarist Lenny Kravitz will try to repeat the success of the Colors of Ostrava festival, where he was the main star this year, in the Czech capital next year. They will present their latest album called Blue Electric Light on March 12 in Prague‘s O2 Arena, Live Nation announced.

Tickets starting at 1,690 crowns will be available on Ticketmaster and Ticketportal from Wednesday morning. The 60-year-old artist will return to the capital after a seven-year hiatus. He last performed at the same venue in the summer of 2018. As part of the current tour, he will also visit London’s Wembley and Paris’ La Défense Arena.

Lenny Kravitz combines rock with funk, reggae, soul and R&B, giving his music an overarching shape close to pop music. Between 1999 and 2002, he won four consecutive Grammy Awards, creating an unprecedented record.

He comes from the family of a Bahamian actress and a Jewish television producer, named after an uncle on his father’s side who died in the Korean War.

Growing up in Manhattan, New York, Kravitz was influenced by his parents’ musical tastes, who listened to R&B, jazz, and classical music. He started playing the drums at the age of five, later sang in a boys’ choir and attended a high school in Beverly Hills similar to the one in the popular TV series. At fifteen he left home and started living with friends.

In 1978, he was admitted to a music school. He released his first hit Let Love Rule 11 years later. On the debut album of the same name, he already recorded most of the instruments himself, which he still does on many records today. Immediately after the release of his debut, he began to receive offers to jump at the concerts of personalities such as Tom Petty, Bob Dylan or David Bowie, before standing by their side and becoming a sought-after star himself.

His greatest hits include the songs It Ain’t Over ‘Til It’s Over, Are You Gonna Go My Way and Fly Away, which he also performed this year at the Colors of Ostrava festival. Around 50,000 people saw him there, making it his biggest concert in the Czech Republic to date. “They don’t go to Kravitz for speeches or song lyrics. The important thing is that he still plays and sings,” Aktuálně.cz wrote, according to which the almost two-hour show culminated in a whirlwind of hits.
