Before the governor Tere Jimenezthe Secretary of Economy of the Federal Government, Marcelo Ebrardrecognized Aguascalientes as export power and of economic developmentduring the National Development Plan Forum 2025-2030: Moral Economy and Work, Substantive Equality and Women’s Rights, which was hosted by this entity.
In her speech, the governor highlighted that Aguascalientes grew more than 6 percent in 2024 and that 27 important investments arrived, with which the state contributes to the development and economy of Mexico.

“The achievements achieved by the entity are the result of constant, coordinated and close work between the private initiative, academia, society and the state government. Aguascalientes always works with its sights set on making a future a reality where all our economic strengths translate into a better quality of life for each person and each family. Mexico can count on Aguascalientes, with the talent, commitment and capacity of its people to promote national growth. Let’s walk together towards a future where no one is left behind, where there are more opportunities, more justice and more progress for everyone. That is our conviction, that is our commitment to move forward with determination, enthusiasm and unity. We are the Giant of Mexico and we will always be willing to contribute our talent, strength and enthusiasm to build a more prosperous and stronger nation,” mentioned Tere Jiménez.
The governor also highlighted advances in key areas, such as modern humanism, the countryside, foreign investment, innovation, education and support for MSMEs, as well as the commitment to clean energy, which positions the state as a development model at the national level.
Ebrard recognizes Aguascalientes as a power
For his part, Marcelo Ebrard, Secretary of Economy, recognized Aguascalientes as a power, since its economy is thriving and it is one of the largest exporters in the country.
“It is no coincidence that the forum is here. Aguascalientes has made a lot of progress and is one of the safest states. If Aguascalientes does well, Mexico does well,” stressed the Secretary of Economy, who also highlighted the importance of the forum. as a space to define the next steps of the National Development Plan, in which the vision of Aguascalientes will be heard and taken into account.
The Secretary of Economy recognized the vocation and potential of the state to have a solid economy and be a powerhouse in exports.
“Aguascalientes is a power in exports, in fact, if you compare exports per capita, it is one of the states that has the most exports, you would think it is number one. Aguascalientes is throughout the country, for example, most of the Nissan vehicles that are sold throughout Mexico are produced here, so it is a successful state and what we have to do is support them,” he stressed.

He added that the state is advancing in technological innovation, as it has companies that will allow the local industry to specialize in topics such as data economy and artificial intelligence.
The forum brought together experts, leaders and representatives from various sectors who participated in working groups on key topics for the economic future of the country, such as: Local Economy, Care, Inclusion and Economic Development, Strengthening SMEs for Economic Development and Shared Prosperity, and Agribusiness and Sustainable and Fair Development.
