AIADMK general committee issue: 3rd day of hearing- Dinamani

The hearing on the appeal petition filed by O. Panneerselvam against the judgment given by the Madras High Court regarding the AIADMK general committee issue is going on for the third day in the Supreme Court on Friday.

Arguments were presented from the side of OPS. AIADMK rules were read out in Tamil language.

The case came up for hearing before the bench of Supreme Court Justices Dinesh Maheshwari and Rishikesh Roy. Senior advocates Ranjith Kumar and Guru Krishnakumar appeared on behalf of the petitioners O. Panneerselvam, Vairamuthu and others.

AIADMK general committee meeting was held on 11th July at Chennai Vanagaram. Against this, the Chennai High Court Single Judge Jayachandran, who heard the petitions filed by O. Panneerselvam and general committee member Vairamuthu, said in his ruling on August 17, ‘July 11 AIADMK general committee meeting is invalid. He had ordered that the situation in AIADMK should continue as it was before June 23.

Against this, K. A two-judge session of the Madras High Court hearing the appeal filed by Palaniswami quashed the decision of the single judge. Also, it said that the AIADMK general committee meeting held on July 11 will go. Appeals were filed against this judgment by O. Panneerselvam and P. Vairamuthu in the Supreme Court.
