Panneerselvam has already started election work in that constituency, planning to field Rabindranath in Theni in the BJP alliance. OPS is planning to make Rabindranath win with the support of Sasikala and DTV Dinakaran in the BJP alliance.
But the party says that Palaniswami has appointed an election task force headed by former minister RB Udayakumar in the AIADMK to defeat Rabindranath.
Some of the AIADMK officials said: Last time, the AIADMK election committee led by RB Udayakumar camped in Theni and made Rabindranath win. If Rabindranath contests in Theni this time, Palaniswami has given RP Udayakumar the responsibility of defeating him.
Also, it has been revealed that Palaniswami has approved the nomination of former Usilambatti MLA Mahendran, who left the AAM and joined the AIADMK in the arrangement of RB Udayakumar, as the Theni candidate.
They said that Palaniswami is planning to remove OPS from politics by winning Rabindranath’s election.
