Air India has launched in-flight Wi-Fi service on its domestic and international flights. The service will be available on multiple aircraft including the Airbus A350, Boeing 787-9 and select Airbus A321neo. With this new initiative, Air India becomes the first airline to provide Wi-Fi internet connectivity during flights in India.

Passengers can stay connected during the flight and use social media and messaging apps.
This feature is available on laptops, tablets and smartphones with iOS or Android operating systems.
Passengers can connect multiple devices simultaneously above an altitude of 10,000 feet.
Pilot Program and Rollout:
This service was first launched under a pilot program on international flights.
The facility was made available on international routes on Airbus A350, select Airbus A321neo and Boeing B787-9 aircraft on flights to destinations such as New York, London, Paris and Singapore.
During the initial period, Wi-Fi service is free.
future plans:
Air India has indicated that it will gradually introduce Wi-Fi service on other aircraft in its fleet. However, factors affecting in-flight Wi-Fi connectivity include satellite connectivity, bandwidth usage, flight routes, and government regulations.
Procedure to connect to Wi-Fi:
- Turn on Wi-Fi.
- Select ‘Air India Wi-Fi’ network.
- Enter your PNR and last name on the portal.
TRAI warns against fake recharge offers
On the other hand, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has alerted mobile users across the country about scams related to fake free recharge offers.
Recently, fraudsters are trying to cheat people by sending misleading SMS in the name of TRAI. False free recharge offers are being claimed in these messages. TRAI has clarified that it has no connection with any such offer.
