Akhilesh Yadav suggests Congress excluded from new opposition alliance for 2024 Lok Sabha elections

by time news

Samajwadi leader Akhilesh Yadav suggested that the Congress doesn’t have a place in the new opposition alliance. He recently met with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata and agreed to form a new opposition alliance without the Congress. However, in a recent interview in Delhi, he stated that the Congress, as the oldest party, must decide on its course of action. The Samajwadi Party will contest the Lok Sabha elections from the Amethi and Rae Bareli constituencies. Yadav suggested that a caste-wise census should be conducted, as there is no social justice without caste enumeration. Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh stated that it is impossible to make any definite decisions about the alliance in advance of the 2024 general election. The role of the Congress party in facing the BJP will be critical, and a non-Congress opposition coalition is unlikely. Mallikarjuna Kharge and senior leaders of the Congress are actively involved in strategizing for the 2024 general elections and will lead the alliance negotiations.

New Delhi: Samajwadi leader Akhilesh Yadav hinted that the Congress has no place in the new opposition alliance.

Samajwadi leader Akhilesh Dav recently met West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata. He agreed to form a new opposition alliance without the Congress. However, in an interview he gave yesterday in Delhi, he said:

Ray Bareilly Constituency too..

Congress National Party. We are state parties. Congress, the oldest party, has to decide on its course of action. In Amethi constituency, Samajwadi Party will contest the Lok Sabha elections this time. We will also contest from Sonia Gandhi’s Rae Bareli constituency.

Recently I visited Amethi. Our party helped Congress win these constituencies. But when injustice was done to the Samajwadi workers, the Congress did not open its mouth. Our leaders say that Samajwadi Party should contest in Amethi and Raebareli constituencies.

We will not reveal the terms of the new opposition coalition. Our aim is to oppose the BJP. Whoever opposes the BJP, the Enforcement Directorate, the CBI and the Income Tax Department are sent. There is no problem with the party joining hands with the BJP. Congress fell due to misuse of central investigative bodies against opposition parties. Similarly BJP will also collapse politically in the coming time.

A caste wise census should be conducted. Otherwise people’s problems will not be solved. There is no social justice without caste enumeration. Therefore, the central government should conduct a caste-wise population census. Many leaders have made this request. But, like the Congress, the BJP is not interested in conducting this poll. Akhilesh Yadav said this.

Impossible: Jairam Ramesh Project

Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said in an interview to PTI yesterday:

With the next general election in 2024, it is not possible to make any definite decision about the alliance in advance.

However, the role of the Congress party in the alliance formed by the opposition parties to face the BJP will be very important. A non-Congress opposition coalition is unlikely. Before the elections, the third, fourth and fifth coalition talks will continue. No importance should be attached to it.

Congress president Mallikarjuna Kharge and senior leaders are actively involved in formulating necessary strategies to face the 2024 general elections. They will also decide the alliance negotiations. This is what he said.
