Libyan Ambassador to the European Union, Jalal Al-Ashi, discussed enhancing joint cooperation with the European Union and topics of common interest.
The European ambassador reported, through his account on the “X” platform, that the meeting discussed establishing an organized dialogue on common priorities, in accordance with the agreement of the Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdelhami Dabaiba, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, last May 15.
The meeting covered key topics such as civil aviation, health, higher education, fisheries, educational and cultural youth exchange, renewable energy, migration and border management.
During the meeting, the commitment to deepening coordination and cooperation was affirmed, while emphasizing that the partnership between the European Union and Libya is based on respect for sovereignty, human rights, universal freedoms, and rich Libyan culture and traditions.
Orlando also congratulated the Libyan ambassador on the municipal elections that took place yesterday, Saturday, in 58 Libyan municipalities, and pointed out that they are an important milestone in the country’s democratic path.
