Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba, held a meeting with the new Board of Directors of the Islamic Dawa Society, to discuss ways to enhance transparency and governance in the association’s work.
During the meeting, Al-Dabaiba stressed “the need for all the association’s activities to be carried out in complete transparency, with a commitment to applying governance standards in all administrative and financial operations,” stressing the importance of “all activities and procedures being made public to ensure oversight and accountability.”
Al-Dabaiba also discussed “the importance of inventorying and disclosing all of the association’s assets,” noting that “this procedure is necessary in view of the financial situation that the association is going through, and to ensure optimal exploitation of the assets, and because of the assets that were exposed in previous times to looting, which makes the inventory and disclosure process a step.” Crucial to prevent waste of public money.”
For its part, the new Board of Directors “expressed its welcome of the government’s directives, stressing its commitment to enhancing transparency and governance of all its activities.”
The Council explained that “counting and disclosing assets reflects its desire to apply the best administrative and financial practices, in a way that serves the association’s objectives and enhances public confidence in it.”
During his visit, Al-Dabaiba was briefed on the maintenance project of the association’s administrative complex “Dhat Al-Emad” in central Tripoli, in which maintenance work is scheduled to begin soon, with the aim of improving the complex’s facilities and ensuring full benefit from it.
