Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, and Head of the Popular Mobilization Forces, Faleh Al-Fayyad, discussed today, Sunday, the files of strengthening the capabilities of the security forces and choosing a new Speaker of Parliament.
The media office of the head of the Popular Mobilization Authority stated in a statement received by the (INA): “Today, Sunday, the head of the Popular Mobilization Authority, Faleh al-Fayyad, received the acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen al-Mandalawi, and during the meeting, they discussed the overall security and political situation in the country.”
He added, “The two sides stressed the importance of cooperation between the legislative and executive authorities in legislating laws that support the armed forces and increase their armament and combat capabilities. The meeting discussed efforts to legislate the service and retirement law for the Popular Mobilization Forces and the importance of approving it.”
He continued, “The mechanism for accelerating the selection of a new speaker of the House of Representatives was discussed, and the necessity of supporting government efforts, especially at the political and legislative levels, in the file of ending the presence of the international coalition and achieving full sovereignty in the country.”
