Today, Tuesday, Trade minister Atheer Daoud Al-Ghurairi called on Turkish companies and institutions to take advantage of the available investment opportunities.
A statement from the ministry, received by the (INA), stated that “on the sidelines of the conclusion of the work of the Joint Iraqi-Turkish Economic and Trade commitee (JETCO) in its first session, the Minister of Commerce, Atheer Daoud Al-Ghurairi, and his Turkish counterpart, Omar Polat, signed the joint final minutes, in line with strengthening “diversifying relations and mutual interests in the fields of trade and industry, transportation, planning, customs, agriculture, exchanging experiences, and organizing exhibitions.”
Al-Ghurairi stressed during the signing ceremony of the final minutes that “what was achieved from the joint discussions that took place between representatives of the two countries represents a strong beginning for a long path of fruitful cooperation,” adding: “We will work to implement what was agreed upon through clear and specific mechanisms to ensure the achievement of common goals.”
Al-Ghurairi continued,“We are talking about a new,independent,strong and prosperous Iraq,and the investment and progress opportunities there are promising,” calling on “Turkish companies and institutions to take advantage of the available investment opportunities,especially in major projects that support sustainable development,including infrastructure,transportation,and technology projects.”
At the same time, the Minister of Commerce called on “the Turkish side to actively participate in the next session of the Baghdad International fair, which we hope will be a platform for enhancing cooperation and strengthening economic and trade ties,” offering “his thanks for the efforts made by both sides to produce positive results that serve to enhance joint cooperation in various fields.”
The statement indicated that ”the two sides agreed to hold the second session of the committee in Iraq on a date determined through diplomatic channels, in addition to agreeing to hold follow-up meetings to review developments related to the final minutes on a regular basis.”
