Aldi has withdrawn some meatballs in sauce of the Lyttos brand for containing undeclared gluten on the labeling and, furthermore, being labeled “erroneously” as “aubergines in sauce” or “vegetables in spicy sauce”.

This was denounced this Friday by Facua-Consumidores en Acción in a statement in which it specified that the supermarket chain has reported the withdrawal of its establishments of “all units” of the Lyttos brand meatballs in tomato sauce, which are sold packaged in 280-gram cans.

Product return and refund

According to the association, Aldi indicated that consumers who are allergic to gluten and own this item can go to one of its establishments to “return it” and that it will proceed to the “reimbursement” of the money.

Likewise, it makes available to consumers the telephone number 900 902 466 and the email address ‘contigo@aldi.es’.

Facua-Consumers in action has regretted that, for the moment, the Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (Aesan) does not report this product withdrawal on its website “destined to food alerts”.
