With the 13th season of “The Taste“, SAT.1 is once again embarking on a culinary adventure where amateur and professional chefs show off their skills. In the popular cooking show, the focus is on taste – and the chefs have to prove they can impress the jury with just one spoon.
The chefs and their mentors
Every season of The Taste, the chefs are the heart of the show. Ambitious amateur and professional chefs fight for the special place on the team of one of the best judges. This year too, there are four well-known and famous chefs on the jury, who also act as mentors and encourage their teams to achieve excellent performance.
Alexander Herrmannwho is considered a culinary innovator in the German gastronomic scene, for his creative interpretations of traditional dishes. He challenges his protégés to rethink classic recipes while working with precise craftsmanship.
Tim Rauecelebrated for its modern Asian-European fusion cuisine, stands for courage, spiciness and exceptional taste. Its candidates learn to leave their comfort zone and push the boundaries of taste.
Frank Rosinwho has been a judge since the first seasons of “The Taste,” placing particular importance on down-to-earth and perfectly coordinated flavors. His expertise helps his protégés create authentic and proud dishes that please both the heart and the body.
Alexander Kumptnerknown for its modern, light dishes with a Mediterranean twist, it brings freshness and finesse to the kitchen. His team members learn how to combine simplicity with sophistication, combining togetherness and taste in one spoon.
The candidates: passion and precision
This season will feature chefs from a variety of backgrounds – from young talent just starting out in their careers to seasoned kitchen professionals looking to prove their skills in front of an audience of millions. The competition will be tough because the jury expects not only technically perfect dishes, but also innovation and creativity. Each candidate brings their own story, style and passion – and that’s exactly what makes the show so engaging.
For the candidates, “An Blas” is more than just a competition: it’s an opportunity to make a name for themselves in cooking and maybe even take the next big step in their careers. Week after week they have to express themselves about different thematic challenges and about the “blind tastings”. Here the judges decide based on taste alone, without knowing which candidate is behind the spoon – which is often a surprise.
Guest judges and unusual challenges
In addition to the four main juries, the 13th season will also feature notable guest juries. Not only do they bring their expertise, but they also challenge the candidates with special challenges. From molecular cuisine to exotic ingredients to classic dishes with a twist, a new culinary challenge awaits each week that will push the participants to their limits.
“The Taste” remains true to its winning formula in its 13th season: it’s all about taste, innovation and the ability to tell a story with a single spoon. The chefs who take on this challenge are sent on a journey full of ups and downs – but in the end only one can take home the victory and the special title.
