Interview Between Time.news Editor and Javier Lopez Casarin, Mayor of Álvaro Obregón
Time.news Editor: Good day, Javier. Thank you for joining us to discuss your proposed budget for Álvaro Obregón for 2025. This year’s proposal includes an 11% increase, which is quite significant. Can you elaborate on the goals you have with this increase?
Javier Lopez Casarin: Thank you for having me. Yes, the proposed 11% increase translates into an additional 400 million pesos, bringing our total budget for 2025 to approximately 4.03 billion pesos. This increase is crucial for us to enhance public services across the district. It’s not just about numbers; it’s about ensuring our community receives quality services.
Time.news Editor: What specific areas will this additional funding target?
Javier Lopez Casarin: The funding allocation will focus on several key areas. We plan to invest in new equipment and furniture, which will modernize our municipal services. There’s also a pressing need to update the vehicle fleet that our public service workers rely on. Additionally, we aim to improve the quality of uniforms for our team, ensuring they look professional and that they can perform their duties effectively.
Time.news Editor: Health and safety are paramount in urban areas. How will the budget increase impact those sectors?
Javier Lopez Casarin: Absolutely, public safety and health are top priorities for us. Part of the budget will go towards enhancing our emergency response capabilities and investing in community health programs. This money will enable us to acquire better resources, which ultimately helps protect our citizens.
Time.news Editor: There are many competing interests in urban budgeting. How do you plan to manage stakeholder expectations, and what is the process for approving this budget?
Javier Lopez Casarin: Excellent question. Transparency and engagement with the community are vital. We have set up various forums for residents to express their needs and concerns. Once we gather input, we carefully consider these perspectives in our budget meetings. The approval process will take place in Congress, where we’ll defend our proposals and justify the need for these increases.
Time.news Editor: The economic climate can be unpredictable. What steps are you taking to ensure fiscal responsibility while achieving these goals?
Javier Lopez Casarin: We are committed to being stewards of public funds. We are prioritizing projects with a measurable impact and are committed to regular audits and financial reviews. We believe that with a structured approach to spending and investment, we can achieve our objectives without compromising fiscal responsibility.
Time.news Editor: Thank you for sharing your insights, Javier. Before we wrap up, what message do you want to convey to the citizens of Álvaro Obregón regarding the proposed budget?
Javier Lopez Casarin: I want the citizens to understand that this budget proposal is a commitment to their well-being and quality of life. Every peso that we’re asking for is a step toward a more efficient, safer, and more prosperous comunidad. Together, we will build a better future for Álvaro Obregón.
Time.news Editor: Thank you again for your time, Javier. We look forward to following the progress of your budget proposal.
