Bulky products ordered from Amazon sellers are now easier to return. The mail order company has adjusted the requirements for sellers.
Anyone who orders heavy and bulky items from Amazon Marketplace retailers will now be able to return them more easily than before. The US group has changed the return conditions for bulky goods, as the company announced on its website.
Accordingly, retailers must offer collection of returned goods at the front door for such items. To date, there has been no such obligation for marketplace sellers. In addition, according to Amazon, retailers should offer their customers a prepaid return label.
The reason, according to Amazon: “Picking up heavy and bulky items at the front door creates a consistent returns experience for customers in our store.”

Retailers can also offer their customers “a partial refund or replacement delivery” for such items, writes Amazon. Sellers must then provide a tracking number.
The changes to the return policy will take effect from October 30, 2024. The specifications apply to the German, French, Italian and Spanish Amazon shop.
In March, Amazon shortened the return period for many of its items from 30 days to the legally required minimum of 14 days. Since then, a halved return period has applied to the following product categories: cameras, electronics, office supplies, computers, video games, music and video/DVD.
The long return period of 30 days still applies to Amazon devices such as Kindle readers, Echo speakers or Fire TV Sticks. The old deadline also remained in effect for completely renewed products from Amazon’s Renewed category.
