Nvidia, in collaboration with another manufacturer, is working on a portable console that will compete with Steam Deck, ASUS ROG Ally and other Chinese devices.

As Day.Az reports with reference to Gazeta.ru, an authoritative MLID insider reports this with reference to sources.

According to an insider, Nvidia intends to provide its own graphics processor to a third-party manufacturer. At the moment, almost all portable Windows consoles are equipped with AMD graphics.

This isn’t Nvidia’s first foray into the portable market. In 2013, the company released SHIELD Portable, equipped with a Tegra 4 mobile processor. However, the device had a limited selection of games, as it ran on the Android operating system. The new Nvidia console will be designed to run high quality and level games.

A gaming device from Nvidia won’t be available anytime soon. Moreover, as the insider notes, we are not talking about the next generation of Steam Deck, since Valve has already entered into an agreement with AMD.

At the moment, the only portable console with a chip from Nvidia is the Nintendo Switch, which is powered by the Tegra X1 mobile processor.
