Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, President of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) Mukhtar Babayev met with world leaders on climate issues at a meeting of environment ministers in Copenhagen (Denmark).
As Day.Az reports, this is stated in a publication on the COP29 account on the “X” social network.
It was noted that M. Babayev met with world leaders on global climate issues, including the Danish Minister for Development Cooperation and Global Climate Policy Dan Jorgensen and the UK Minister for Energy Security and Zero Emissions Strategy Graham Stewart.
Discussions focused on Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC), climate finance, climate change adaptation, damage issues and climate change mitigation.
It should be noted that the decision to hold COP29 in Azerbaijan was officially announced in Dubai on December 11, 2023. Azerbaijan will host the event in November this year.
