Ananya Singh: Youngest Female IAS Officer in India Clears UPSC Exam

Kolkata: Ananya Singh, a 22-year-old woman from Uttar Pradesh has cleared the UPSC exam and became the country’s youngest female IAS officer.

IAS is considered to be one of the highest ranks in the country. Cracking the UPSC civil service exam conducted for this purpose is full of challenges. At least three to four attempts are the only way to pass the exam. Moreover, most of the UPSC toppers are exclusively prepared in coaching centers.

In this case, Ananya Singh is from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. He has already secured 96% in his class 10th and 98.25% in class 12th and topped the district level in their public examinations. He completed his schooling with honors through CISCE and graduated in Economics Honors from Sriram College of Commerce, Delhi.

From his childhood, he dreamed of becoming a civil service officer. Self prepared for UPSC exam in 2019. In the same year he was selected as the youngest IAS officer in the country.

He is currently serving in West Bengal. Next to him, in 2023, a 21-year-old man named Ansar Shaikh from Maharashtra achieved the feat of becoming an IAS officer at a very young age. However, Ananya Singh’s record among Indian women remains unbroken till date.
