The Angolan team, coached by the Portuguese Pedro Gonçalves, guaranteed qualification for the 2025 African Cup of Nations (CAN) this Tuesday, by defeating Niger 1-0, in a valid match for the fourth round of Group F.

In Morocco, on loan from Niger, Zini scored the goal of the Agouls in the first minute of the game, allowing them to consolidate their leadership in group F, without being beaten, with 12 points.

With this victory, Angola qualifies for the African tournament for the 10th time in history, the second with Portuguese coach Pedro Gonçalves, who made history by becoming the first Angolan coach to win four games in a row in the qualifying stage of a tournament European.

Angola plays again on November 11, against Ghana, in Luanda, and finishes the qualifying stage for the African Cup of Nations against Sudan, on the 15th of the same month, in Sudanese territory.

For the same group, Sudan, who beat Ghana 2-0 in their home stadium, are in second place, with seven, while the losers are in third place, with two. Niger is last, with only one point.

CAN’2025 will be played between December 21, 2025 and January 18, 2026, in Morocco.

In addition to Angola, Morocco, Egypt, Algeria, DR Congo, Cameroon, Burkina Faso and Senegal have already qualified for the finals.
