Anseong City Public Health Center Dementia Relief Center will be conducting ‘On-site Dementia Screening Tests’ starting from the 6th for preemptive dementia prevention and early detection of dementia patients.
The purpose of the ‘On-site Dementia Screening Test’ is to visit places where seniors are active, such as senior centers and senior colleges, and provide dementia prevention education as well as cognitive screening tests to help screen seniors with low mobility and manage them early to prevent them from progressing to dementia. .
The cognitive screening test is conducted on site for approximately 10 to 15 minutes and is a test that evaluates individual cognitive functions such as orientation, memory, and attention and is conducted in a one-to-one question and answer format. If the test results show cognitive decline, you will receive an additional diagnostic test free of charge at the public health center.
In addition, if necessary tests such as diagnostic medical tests or brain imaging (CT) performed to identify the cause of dementia are performed at a participating hospital, you can receive support up to 80,000 won for out-of-pocket costs regardless of income.
When ultimately diagnosed with dementia, you can register at the Dementia Relief Center and receive a variety of integrated dementia management services, including support for dementia treatment costs, hygiene consumables such as diapers, case management, and fingerprint registration to prevent disappearance.
An official at the Dementia Relief Center said, “Early dementia screening is very important because if dementia is detected early and treated appropriately, it can inhibit progression to a severe condition or improve symptoms,” and added, “We are increasing dementia accessibility through on-site dementia screening tests to reduce blind spots.” “We will do our best to find patients while resolving the problem,” he said.
Meanwhile, Anseong City announced that starting this year, it will expand the ‘Inpatient Child Care Service’, which provides care services by dispatching hospitalized child care workers to hospitals where children are hospitalized.
The hospitalized child care service is a project implemented from the second half of 2024. In 2024, when a child (3 months to 12 years old) with an address in Anseong City is hospitalized in a hospital in Anseong or Pyeongtaek, a hospitalized child care worker will be dispatched to provide meals and medication support. However, from 2025, the service was expanded to allow children living in Anseong City to use the service regardless of the region where the hospital is located.
However, if it is difficult to register a hospitalized child caretaker because only one resident guardian can be registered at the hospital, the service will be limited, so you must apply after checking whether it is possible to register and connect with a hospitalized child caretaker.
Service hours are from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., once a day for at least 4 hours and no more than 8 hours, and the annual usage limit is 90 hours per person. The usage fee is up to 7,000 won per hour, and support is differentiated into levels 1, 2, and 3 depending on the type of income determination.
In principle, income determination must be received at the town, township, or dong administrative welfare center before using the service. However, in the case of sudden hospitalization, it is possible to receive a refund through a later determination by paying the maximum out-of-pocket cost in advance.
An official from Anseong City said, “In Anseong City, there are 12 hospitalized child care workers who have completed professional training to support care for hospitalized children, so we ask for your interest and publicity to prevent gaps in care due to reasons such as dual income.”
