Ansu Fathi was born on October 31, 2002 in Guinea-Bissau, West Africa to a Christian family. At the age of six, Fathi moved with his family to Herrera, Seville. That is what changed Ansu’s head. His older brother Braima signed for Sevilla football club in La Liga. His other brother Miguel Fathi is also a footballer. Fati has four siblings. . Parents are Bori Fathi and mother Lourdes Fathi. Father Bori Fathi was also a football player.

Fathi’s on-field growth has been rocket fast. Fathy joined Barcelona’s La Masia in 2012 when he was 10 years old. His astonishing performances on the field quickly led him to the role of captain. Anzu Fathi dominated youth football after becoming the captain of the youth team. A foot injury hampered him on the field, but after a 10-month hospital stay, Fathy managed to dominate the field. On 24 July 2019, he signed his first professional contract with the FC Barcelona senior team. The contract runs until 2022. He made his debut for Barcelona Football Club at the age of 16, becoming the youngest ever debutant to represent the club. International career
Anzu qualified for Guinea-Bissau at international level but never represented his country of birth at any level. After his La Liga debut, Fathy was granted Spanish citizenship in 2019 after the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) showed interest in him. On 11 October 2019, Anzu Fathi was called up to the Spanish Under-21 squad. The door has been opened for Anzu to make the Spain squad in 2020 for the 2020-21 UEFA Nations League. Made his debut on 6 September 2020 by scoring the first goal in his international debut. At the age of 17 years and 311 days, he scored Spain’s third goal against Ukraine, becoming the youngest goalscorer in the national team. He broke Juan Erasque’s 95-year-old record of 18 years and 344 days. Fathy also became the youngest player to start a match in the UEFA Nations League.
Awards
Ansu Fathi is one of the world’s best young stars and has won collective and individual awards. Anzu won the Copa del Rey: 2020-21 title with football club Barcelona. Individually, he has also won UEFA La Liga Revelation Team of the Year in 2019–20, La Liga Player of the Month in 2020, IFFHS Men’s World Youth (U20) Team in 2020 and Goal.com NxGn in 2021.
