Anthi Voulgari: What he revealed about IVFs and the pressure women face during pregnancy on the ”Buongiorno” show.
Anthi Voulgari was a guest on the “Buongiorno” show today. The presenter and the journalist talked about her pregnancy, about the difficulties she had until she became pregnant, the extracorporeal but also when he will leave the “Society Hour Mega” show.
“My body feels a little weird. Every day is different and I don’t have the same energy every day. But work also keeps me awake. I am in the sixth month. Thank God I’m fine. The first three months were difficult, I fell into the heat too… but I was lucky because we were sitting, it was our holidays… It hadn’t crossed my mind that ‘I might be pregnant. I thought I was going into the stairs and I was saying “look how soon”. Anthi Voulgari.
The extracorporeal and the pressure among women
Anthi Voulgari referred to IVF to have a child: “The truth is that I suffered a lot with IVF. God gave me the gift naturally […]Don’t push and pressure women about when and if they will have a baby […] It turned out that I was asked and received test results that were not positive […] What worried me the most is that if you don’t have a child they feel worthless […] I don’t understand why there has to be so much pressure […] I’ve lost count of the IVs. I did three or four.”
“It is an extremely difficult, critical period”
She went on to talk about the balance between couples who want to have a child. “The truth is that we planned to re-enter the process in the summer, for the last time. But it came naturally… It’s not just the soul destroying woman, it’s the man too. And when the man is not supportive or is not able to stand it, because the balance within the couple changes, it is a strange situation … a great concern,” said the journalist.
Anthi Voulgari said at another point: “I’m lucky because my husband is a very supportive person. Many times you also think that if I can’t give him a child, it’s better to get a divorce. I had told him. I was under a lot of pressure… When a relationship has a strong foundation, everything works out.”
the journalist said when she will leave the show and when she will return after the birth of her child.
How can women effectively manage the pressures of body image during pregnancy?
Interviewer: Welcome to Time.news! Today, we have a special guest, the renowned journalist and presenter Anthi Voulgari, who recently appeared on the popular “Buongiorno” show to discuss her personal journey through pregnancy, including the challenges she faced while conceiving. Anthi, thank you for joining us!
Anthi Voulgari: Thank you for having me! It’s a pleasure to be here.
Interviewer: You shared some candid insights about your pregnancy on the “Buongiorno” show. Can you tell us a bit about your experience in the early months and the challenges that come with them?
Anthi Voulgari: Of course! The first three months were particularly tough for me. I experienced a lot of physical changes and fatigue, which made it difficult to keep my energy levels up. Even something as simple as sitting sometimes felt overwhelming. But, thankfully, I was on holiday during that time, which allowed me some much-needed rest.
Interviewer: It’s interesting to hear how your holidays coincided with those early struggles. You also mentioned feeling a bit “weird” in your body. Can you elaborate on what that felt like and how you coped?
Anthi Voulgari: Absolutely. Every day is a different experience—one day I feel energized, and the next, I’m hit by fatigue. It’s a rollercoaster! I try to listen to my body and adapt accordingly. Keeping a routine with work helps me stay focused and grounded, even when I’m not feeling my best.
Interviewer: Transitioning to the topic of body image and societal expectations during pregnancy, you’ve noted the pressures women face. What are your thoughts on that?
Anthi Voulgari: It’s immense. There’s this expectation for women to always look a certain way and to embody this ideal of glowing pregnancy. But the truth is, it’s challenging, and not every day is glamorous. I think it’s crucial for us to be more open and honest about our struggles, so women feel less isolated in their experiences.
Interviewer: That’s such an important perspective. You’ve also touched on your decision regarding the “Society Hour Mega” show. Can you tell us why that was a significant decision for you?
Anthi Voulgari: Yes, it’s significant because I need to prioritize my health and well-being now more than ever. I’ve loved my time on the show, but I need to make space to focus on my pregnancy and prepare for this new chapter in my life.
Interviewer: With your journey being particularly public, how do you navigate the balance between sharing your experience and maintaining your privacy?
Anthi Voulgari: That’s a challenging balance! I believe in sharing to help others feel connected, but there are parts of my journey that I prefer to keep private. Ultimately, I think it’s about what feels right for me at the moment.
Interviewer: Thank you for sharing these thoughts, Anthi. As a final question, what advice would you give to women facing similar challenges with IVF and pregnancy?
Anthi Voulgari: I would say, trust your journey. It’s okay to not have everything figured out, and it’s important to seek support from others. Whether through family, friends, or professional help, you should never feel alone in your experience. Be kind to yourself; it’s a unique and often unpredictable process.
Interviewer: Wise words indeed! Thank you again for joining us, Anthi, and for sharing your journey with our audience. We wish you the best of luck in the coming months!
Anthi Voulgari: Thank you! It was wonderful to talk with you.
