Renowned filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has recently watched Karan Johar’s much-anticipated film, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, not just once but twice, and has been thoroughly impressed. Also, it’s the second KJo film that I bought tickets for, that too twice, and I am sending everyone who trusts me to go see it.”
Kashyap further praised the film, highlighting the superlative writing, the exceptional performances of Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, as well as their sparkling chemistry. He commended the dialogue writing in mainstream Hindi cinema, where people talk realistically. He also applauded the incredible unrequited love story between Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi, as well as the portrayal of patriarchal villainy by Jaya Bachchan.
