Apple Raises Prices for Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, and Apple News+

In a surprising move, tech giant Apple has announced a significant price increase for some of its highly popular services. Starting today, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, and Apple News+ will see a hike in their individual prices, which in turn will affect the cost of Apple One bundles as well.

In the United States, the monthly subscription for Apple TV+ has been bumped up to $9.99 from its previous price of $6.99. Similarly, Apple Arcade sees a $2 increase, now priced at $6.99 per month. Apple News+ will now cost subscribers $12.99 per month, up from $9.99 per month. These changes are not limited to the US alone, as prices in most countries where Apple services are available are also set to rise.

If users find themselves unhappy with the new price points, Apple has made it quick and easy to cancel subscriptions. On an iPhone or iPad, one can follow these steps:

1. Open the Settings app.
2. Tap on your profile picture.
3. Find and tap on the “Subscriptions” option.
4. For Apple One subscribers, there is an option to “Cancel All Services” to end the subscription for every service. Alternatively, users can choose individual services to cancel.
5. If users have individual subscriptions, they can tap on the desired subscription and select “Cancel Subscription.”
6. Finally, tapping on “Confirm” completes the cancellation process.

It is worth noting that even after canceling a subscription, users will still have access to the services until the next billing date. For instance, if users have paid for a year of Apple TV+, they will be able to enjoy the service until the expiration of the prepaid period. However, Apple One can only be purchased on a monthly basis, so access will be lost at the end of the current month.

For those who need to cancel their subscriptions on a Mac, the process is similar. Open the System Settings app, click on your profile picture, select Media & Purchases, and choose “Manage” under the Subscriptions option. From there, follow the same steps as mentioned earlier.

While the new prices go into effect for new subscribers today, Apple is offering existing subscribers a 30-day grace period. During this time, existing subscribers will continue to enjoy the service at their current price. However, once the 30-day grace period expires, they will be charged the new prices upon their next renewal date. Apple is expected to notify subscribers via email before these price changes take effect.

Apple’s decision to increase prices might leave some customers disgruntled, but the company is confident in the value its services provide. As Apple continues to invest heavily in original content, Apple TV+ remains a key player in the competitive streaming market. Likewise, Apple Arcade and Apple News+ offer unique experiences for gamers and news enthusiasts, respectively.

Only time will tell if subscribers are willing to accept the higher prices for these premium services or if Apple will see a decline in its customer base.
