Apple released iOS 27.2 and iPadOS 27.2 on October 26, 2026, bringing expanded Siri AI language support in beta for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish, alongside conversation recall, new Messages calendar suggestions, and Apple Pencil support for the iPhone Duo.
The latest software rollouts touch operating systems across the Apple ecosystem, spanning iOS, macOS Golden Gate 27.2, watchOS 27.2, tvOS 27.2, and visionOS 27.2. Alongside bringing highly anticipated functions to various hardware, the rollout tackles security flaws—featuring a backported patch for an iOS 18 flaw that might have seen weaponization in an advanced, highly focused campaign targeting particular individuals running software iterations preceding iOS 27.
Siri AI Language Expansion and Memory Upgrades
Siri AI now operates in five additional languages: French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish, though availability remains restricted in Europe and mainland China. Apple plans to add Vietnamese, Turkish, Norwegian, and Traditional Chinese by the end of the year.

On supported hardware—including all iPhone 16 models, the iPhone 15 Pro, and the iPhone 15 Pro Max—Siri AI gains the ability to recall your past conversations and factor them into ongoing responses. The assistant can also draw from wider data sources, including voicemails, Messages attachments, calendar event attendees, and expanded Safari history and Reading List results. Users wishing to restrict these memory functions can use a new centralized setting to choose which apps Siri, Search, and suggestions can access.
Apple Pencil Support and Edge Light Arrive on the iPhone Duo
Owners of the first foldable iPhone Duo receive dedicated hardware features with the update. Apple Pencil (USB-C) support is now active for applications like Notes and Preview. Additionally, the device gains Edge Light, a feature that illuminates the user’s face during video calls by casting an on-screen ring light effect.
- This release upgrades Siri AI capabilities, adding the capacity to remember helpful context from earlier Siri exchanges and tap into a broader spectrum of personal context,
- You will also find that this update brings Suggestions in Messages, facilitating fast actions within applications such as Reminders and Calendar derived from your chat context.
Contextual Messages Suggestions and App Redesigns
The Messages app now features Suggested Actions that can transform text conversations into calendar entries, reminder items, and notes, as well as show places in Maps or surface flight and package details. While tested in earlier betas, the feature is rolling out widely under user settings, where owners can toggle the tool on or off. Canadians using AirPods Pro 2 or newer also receive Apple’s Hearing Aid feature in regions including Alberta, British Columbia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Saskatchewan.

Other interface changes include a redesigned Apple Music visual identity featuring a colorful, sound-inspired logo alongside a refreshed color scheme replacing red highlights with blue. Podcasts abandon the old Up Next queue in favor of a Home tab divided into New Episodes and Continue Playing rows. Apple has also added Multiview to iPhone, enabling viewers to watch up to four live sport streams simultaneously on Apple TV, such as Major League Soccer, Formula 1 in the U.S., and Friday Night Baseball doubleheaders.
