A former candidate on Donald Trump’s TV show “The Apprentice” has withdrawn her libel suit against the ex-president. The court in New York announced on Friday that the proceedings had been discontinued. However, the lawyers of the plaintiff Summer Zervos emphasized that her client did not move away from her allegations against Trump and had not received any financial compensation.

“Apprentice” candidate withdrew libel suit against Trump

Zervos accuses the ex-president of sexually molesting her in 2007. In 2017, she filed a lawsuit against Trump. She accused him of “numerous false, defamatory statements” that he made following her allegations.

The harassment alleged by her allegedly took place in a hotel in Beverly Hills. Trump pressed against her will against her and grabbed her by the chest – but she pushed him back, the plaintiff stated. Trump denied the allegations.

In the past few years, numerous women had accused Trump of sexual assault. Well-known US columnist E. Jean Carroll accused Trump of raping her in the mid-1990s. She also sued the ex-president for defamation. Trump accused Carroll of lying after the rape allegations became known. In an interview, Trump said he didn’t even know Carroll. “She’s not my type,” he added.
