As a professor and head of the Department of Physical Education of the Prof. Rafael Marino Technical School of Tafí Viejo, I write this letter again to express my enormous dissatisfaction with schedule changes that are being made arbitrarily in the curricular space of Physical Education, for reasons of schedule restructuring in several secondary schools and also in some primary schools in the province. This greatly affects and violates the right of children and young people to have Physical Education two days a week (stimuli of 1 hour each day) as appropriate, based and regulated in secondary circulars No. 160-2018 of the Ministry of Education. This circular explicitly says that two Physical Education classes must be given on different days, each class lasting one hour or, failing that, an 80-minute class and another 40-minute class with an intermediate day of rest. In the changes proposed by different current authorities or officials of the Ministry of Education of Tucumán, they formalize Physical Education school schedules of a single two-hour class in a single day, a totally anti-pedagogical proposal, which generates enormous inconveniences for students such as: lack of didactic continuity, lack of interest in the subject, class cuts due to various factors (acts, strikes, disinfection, power outages, lack of water, holidays, etc.) among others. It should be noted that in these difficult times where scourges are increasing in our young people such as the consumption of psychoactive substances, alcoholism, crime, etc. and there are no public policies that focus 100% on these problems, I request to review and/or correct these new proposed measures and provisions with the false argument that due to the situation in the country they do not have money to travel twice a week, those being measures that are totally arbitrary and erroneous and that only affect the students, also considering that for many of them the only healthy and sporting stimulus they have only occurs in schools. Physical education teachers have to defend our spaces… an official on duty totally unrelated to our subject cannot make schedule changes that do not correspond. Example: in mathematics 2+2=4 and it will always be 4 and not 3 or 5. In Physical Education there are two one-hour classes per week and an intermediate day of rest. Let them understand it and make it super clear to them.
