The National Assembly of Ecuador condemned this Saturday, March 23, the kidnapping suffered on Friday by legislator Lorena Rosado, a member of official DNA by Guayasand also celebrated his release after a police operation.
The Assembly “rejects any criminal act and especially the kidnapping suffered by assembly member Lorena Rosado,” the Parliament said in a statement released on its social networks.
“We strongly condemn the insecurity that affects our fellow citizens in the streets,” he added after reiterating Parliament’s “absolute support” for the State security forces.
Finally, the Assembly called for the unity of Ecuadorians “in these difficult times” due to the actions of organized crime groups on a national scale.
Rosado, in a message through social networks, recounted the kidnapping for about three hours that she suffered on Friday with her husband in Guayaquil.

“At the moment I feel well and safe, but I fear for my life and that of my family,” he said in the statement in which he also indicated that he has presented to the Prosecutor’s Office the respective demand.
He added that during the kidnapping he also suffered the theft of his cell phone and other belongings.
