Bundesliga club Heidenheim has announced sad news. A student who worked in the club has died.

1. FC Heidenheim has said goodbye to its dual student Sebastian Clement. The 20-year-old died last Sunday after a long and serious illness. The Bundesliga club announced this on the X platform on Wednesday.

Clement came to Heidenheim in October 2022 as part of his business studies with a focus on sports management. From January 2023, he worked at the HARTMANN youth performance center during the practical phase, the club continued. In March he was diagnosed with acute lymphatic leukemia (ALL).

The dual student fought for his life for over a year and let people share in it via a specially set up page on Instagram. Most recently, he was followed by over 6,000 users. The FCH then said goodbye with the words: “We mourn with Sebas’s family and all relatives. Dear Seba, you will always have a place in our FCH family, you were a real fighter.”

There was a lot of sympathy for the post on X and Instagram. TSG Hoffenheim also commented: “Rest in peace, dear Sebastian. We wish Sebastian’s family, relatives and friends a lot of strength and our thoughts are with you.” Other users wrote: “On Sunday VfB and FC Heidenheim play just for you, dear Sebastian. Rest in peace, wherever you are” or “Hey Sebastian, wherever you are. You should know that you “We really miss you down here. Take good care of your fighting family from above – you all fought. We will never forget you and will always be there for your family.”
