Astronauts have found the possible last leak on the ISS

Russian cosmonauts have discovered a possible last location in the Zvezda module of the International Space Station (ISS), from where an air leak could have occurred. This is not about new problems at the station. Earlier, Dmitry Rogozin, the general director of Roscosmos, reported about problems with the hull and equipment on the ISS, and that the cosmonauts know how to fix them.

“Russian cosmonauts Pyotr Dubrov and Anton Shkaplerov have found a possible last air leak in the intermediate chamber of the Zvezda service module of the ISS Russian segment,” the press service of Roscosmos told reporters (quoted by RIA Novosti). It is noted that this is not about new problems on the ISS.

Mr. Rogozin, congratulating the cosmonauts on the coming New Year, informed about the problems with the hull and equipment on the ISS, and that the cosmonauts know how to “cure” them. The press service of the state corporation said that the means of eliminating the leakage is planned to be delivered on the nearest cargo spacecraft Progress, after which the cosmonauts will proceed to the final elimination of the leak.

An air leak was recorded on the ISS in the fall of 2019. A year later, the crew discovered the first crack. Russia and the United States set up a working group in May to find the causes of the air leak in the Russian module. In July, the search for cracks was resumed.
