Due to an infrastructure problem on the high-speed line near London, Eurostar was forced to cancel at least fourteen trains departing from or destined for the English capital, the company announced this Saturday, December 30.
These cancellations, which occur during one of the busiest weekends of the year, will strand thousands of passengers.
Cancellation until the end of the day
According to the British agency PA, trains were canceled due to flooding of a tunnel in the south of England. According to PA, they have been canceled “until the end of the day” while heavy rain is expected.
On December 21, in the middle of the holiday departure period, Eurostar passengers were already faced with numerous train cancellations due to a surprise strike which paralyzed the Channel Tunnel.
