Dismay in Serbia. Late this Thursday, the local authorities in Mladenovac, 42 kilometers south of Belgrade, reported a new deadly shooting in the country.
As published Radio-Television of Serbia (RTS) on its web portal, at least eight people died and another ten were injured in the town of Dubona, seven of them seriously, in the Mladenovac region.
The 21-year-old suspect fired with an automatic rifle and has not yet been apprehended.
The alleged perpetrator of the shots is in search and capture by the state police after fleeing the scene. According to some Serbian media, the attacker fired with an automatic rifle from a moving car and is surrounded, but has not yet been arrested. Also, the daily Telegraph does not rule out rules out that the alleged perpetrator has hostages.
According to the same outlet, the authorities issued an arrest warrant for a 21-year-old young man, with the acronym B.U, and who drives a Mercedes Benz.

According to the newspaper Vecheme News, the attack began after the alleged perpetrator argued with a police officer. After the brawl, the young man went to his house for the weapon and began shooting at several people.
Among the deceased would be the police officer with whom he argued and his sister. The emergency services are treating the injured, at least a dozen. According to the newspaper ‘Blic’, among them is a 15-year-old boy.
For its part, the Serbian Interior Ministry issued a statement early Friday morning reporting the shooting. “There are people who do not show signs of life and several were injured,” he said. In turn, they activated an operation to surround the gunman. All available police forces in the region are in and around Mladenovac.
