“At this point, all we know is that this person decided to leave their home and attack people,” police officer Danielle Outlaw explained at a news conference.

And he continued: “At this point, we don’t see a connection between any of the victims and the shooter, so we are still trying to piece the fact together and figure it out. We’re scouring the area to get everything we can, identify witnesses, see where the cameras are located, and do everything we can to find out why.”

Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Federation of Teachers issued a statement asking officials to move forward on gun reform. “Time and time again, the devastation caused by the scourge of gun violence continues to separate families and leave communities shattered,” said Jerry Jordan, president of that federation.
