A 17-year-old boy named Mac Rutherford of English descent from Belgium has set a record as the youngest pilot to fly solo around the world.
Mac Rutherford’s record-breaking journey started from Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, on March 23rd.
300 km per hour Mack Rutherford, who traveled in one of the world’s fastest ultralight aircraft, the ‘Shark’, planned to complete his ambitious journey in 3 months.
But the journey took a long time as many unexpected obstacles came in his way like monsoon rains, sandstorms and intense heat.
Accordingly, Mac Rutherford, who has traveled around 52 countries in 5 continents in the last 5 months, landed the plane in Bulgaria’s capital Sofia yesterday and completed the record journey.
A large number of people, including his family, gathered at the airport to welcome Mac Rutherford and celebrate his achievements. They gave Mac Rutherport a rousing welcome with applause and cheers.
In 2020, at the age of 15, Mack Rutherford became the world’s youngest pilot after obtaining his pilot’s license.
Before this, Zara Rutherford is the youngest pilot who flew solo around the world at the age of 19. This is none other than Mac Rutherford’s older sister. That is, Mac Rutherford has broken his older sister’s record.
