Woman arrested for trying to seduce husband in drug case Vandanmedu panchayat member Soumya (34), Kollam Rania Manzil Shanavas (39) and Animel Manzil Shefinshah (24) were arrested from Ernakulam on Thursday for smuggling drugs. The second accused in the case, Soumya’s lover, is trying to arrest Vinod Rajendran, 38, a hotelier in Palakandam, Palakandam.

Vandanmedu police and the Special Investigation Team of the district police chief had seized the deadly drug MDMA from a two-wheeler in Puttaparthi on Tuesday. Thottappuraikkal Sunil, a native of Ambalamed, was taken into custody in the incident. Sunil’s wife Soumya and her accomplices were arrested during the ensuing investigation.

Pre-arranged plan with boyfriend

The incident took place with the gentle lover Vinod planning to trap her husband. After her husband questioned Soumya’s secret dealings, it was decided to file a drug case against Sunil. Through Vinod’s friend Shanavas, another accused Shefinshah organized a five-gram MDMA Vinod for Rs 45,000. On the 18th, Vinod and his friend, who had arrived from abroad, reached Vandanmedu Amayar and handed over the drugs to the first accused Soumya. She hid it in her husband’s bike inside the tank cover and took a picture of the vehicle and handed it to Soumya Vinod. Sunil was handed over to the intelligence unit and other investigators, including an entertaining film and an audio message on his return from abroad. The incident came to light after the police came to know that Sunil was innocent during interrogation.
