After five years of leading political life, activists from the Movement of Elites Engaged for the Emancipation of Benin (Moele-Benin) met on Saturday September 2 and Sunday September 3 at the Palais des Congrès in Cotonou to hold their first ordinary congress. This activity brought together an audience of personalities, actors from civil society and the Beninese political class, notably from the parties BR, UP le Renouveau, Les Démocrates, Le MPL, FCBE etc. At the end of the meeting, the delegates decided to revitalize the party’s governing bodies in order to put the political party resolutely in its path initiated since 2018 at the constitutive congress in Dassa-Zoumè. Unanimously, Moele-Benin activists renewed their confidence in the president, Jacques Ayadji to lead the destiny of the party for the next 5 years. Indeed, through a press release made public this Wednesday, the president of the party Jacques Ayadji was the only candidate in the running “after the withdrawal in his favor of his two challengers”. He was therefore fervently re-elected by acclamation to the post of president of the National Political Bureau of the party for a new five-year term. This renewed confidence, Jacques Ayadji invited the delegates to proceed within “the statutory deadlines” with the establishment of the new National Political Bureau expected “to meet the challenges of the day” in order to allow Moele-Benin to “continue resolutely its march towards the summit”.
