Akim of the Mangistau region of Kazakhstan, Nurdaulet Kilybay, presented state awards and letters of gratitude to the participants in the operation after the plane crash in Aktau.
As Day.Az reports, according to information, the Order of “Aibyn” (Valor) III degree was awarded to three fire service employees, including fire rescuers and the department commander.
The medal “For Courage” was awarded to pilots and doctors of the Disaster Medicine Center, as well as rescuers. The medal “For Labor Distinction” was received by a psychologist from the Center for Disaster Medicine.
Letters of gratitude from the President of Kazakhstan were presented to employees of fire departments and medical institutions who actively participated in eliminating the consequences of the tragedy.
In total, 68 people received awards, including 24 employees of the Emergency Department and 44 representatives of various fields. The awards were presented by the head of the department, Murat Mukhanov, on behalf of the Minister of Emergency Situations.
Let us recall that on board the Embraer 190 aircraft of Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), operating flight J2-8243 from Baku to Grozny, there were 62 passengers and 5 crew members – a total of 67 people. As a result of the disaster, 38 people were killed and 29 were injured.
The analysis of aircraft black boxes is carried out in accordance with international aviation standards. The investigation into the causes of the disaster continues, and final conclusions will be made after completion of all studies and analysis of the collected data.
